- $2 billion over eight years, intended to support up to 820,000 households
- For eligible electric cold-climate air-source heat pumps on the federal Eligible Products List
- No energy audit required before or after installation
- Planned streamlined online application portal, expected to open in early 2027
- Households apply after their eligible heat pump is installed
- Government states the rebate can be combined with existing provincial programs, subject to each program's rules
- Retroactivity: the Government says eligible installations from November 1, 2026 can apply once the program launches
