Frequently asked questions
Smart batteries: do I need solar?
No. A battery can charge from the grid for backup and rate optimization.
Smart batteries: what can a battery back up?
Selected essential circuits or, with enough capacity and power, the whole home.
Heat pumps: do they work in Canadian winters?
Cold-climate models are designed for it. Capacity declines in extreme cold, so systems include a backup heat plan.
Heat pumps: can I keep my furnace?
Yes — a hybrid system uses the heat pump most of the time and the furnace in extreme cold.
Solar: does solar work in winter?
Yes, but production is much lower due to short days and snow. Estimates are annual.
Net zero: will these products make my home net zero?
Not automatically. Net zero depends on consumption, envelope, equipment, solar production and use. We help you plan a pathway.
Rebates: am I eligible?
Eligibility depends on current program rules and funding. Some programs require evaluations before work begins, so check first.
Financing: what are your rates?
Rates and terms come from lenders or programs and are provided in writing. We don't publish them.
Installation: how long does it take?
Installation is often days; permits and utility approvals usually set the overall timeline.
Warranty & support: who services the system?
Warranty terms come from the manufacturer and our installation agreement, provided with your proposal.
