01
Measured over a year
A net zero home still draws from the grid at night and in winter. In sunnier months it produces surplus. Net zero is the annual balance.
02
New builds vs. existing homes
New homes can be designed to net zero standards from the start. Existing homes usually work toward it in phases through efficiency, electrification, storage and generation.
03
Important
Net zero is a goal and a pathway, not a product. Whether a home reaches net zero depends on its consumption, envelope, equipment, solar production, site conditions and how it is used. No single product guarantees it.
